All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.
~ 2Corinthians 5:18-20(MSG)
According to The Bible, we are supposed to be agents of reconciliation (The Role).
Today, the world has given us irreconcilable differences (unwillingness to agree or settle, adjust, or submit; conflicting ideas that cannot be brought into harmony).
So sad, we have accepted it with both hands, if not completely, but to a large extent.
Irreconcilable D, is not merciful – we are to be merciful;
It is not peaceful – we are to reach peace with all men.
It is bitter – we are to salt the earth;
It is hostile – we are to love and care for.
It is selfish – we are to live selflessly, just as Our Master Jesus Christ.
It is not loving or lovable – we are to love and be loveable.
It remains firm against all we believe in as Sons and Daughters of The Most High.
To reconcile means to restore to friendship or harmony. Settle, restore, remedy, heal (I so love this one), cure, mend…
Yes, we are allowed to acknowledge our differences, but not at the expense of reconciliation.
We need not all be the same to be part of this movement (@different personalities); which in this case, is reconciliation.
As different as we are, or think we are; we’ve been reconciled back to God in Christ Jesus. Now, it’s our turn, the baton has been handed to us.
Should we then allow our differences pose as a barrier to working out our role of loving, healing, mending, causing harmony, peaceful living, restoring and so on?
Please Note: We are not only sent out to strangers. It begins with those closest to us. As agents, we shouldn’t leave out, our families, marriages, schools, offices., Etc.
The time has come to hold our stand in doing right by The Word. Grace is obviously very much needed to achieve this. The cool thing is, we have been granted an abundance of grace. It left for us to utilize it. We must set ourselves apart, in making sure we make PAPA proud. And, with the help of His sweet Spirit, I am reassured that we can certainly act out our role without fear or favor.
Everywhere you go, reconcile, and shun irreconcilable differences for good. *wink.
