Written Convo: “Don’t mistake my kindness for interest”.

I had this convo with a friend. I go by the name M, for Me :D. He, CE for…Well, you’ll find out in time. Enjoy. 😉

CE: ?? you know, this emoticon reminds me of how you smile. Very full. Not a half or quarter smile.
Just saw this on twitter; someone tweeted, “don’t mistake my kindness for interest”.
What’s your take?
M: I agree. People abuse kindness. They misinterpret and translate wrongly@ kindness.
CE: Hmmmmmmmmm
M: It’s almost like a crime to be kind these days. I have tasted such treatment first hand, its terrible.
When did it become a thing of interest to be kind? You thinking, that I am kind to you because I
Need something from you. Why?
CE: Hmmmmmmm, many guys are usually culprits of this.
M: Even ladies.
CE: When a lady seems kind, many erroneously think, “ she likes me ”.
M: Shouldn’t you be glad someone is kind to you? Exactly @ your point. Very wrong@ she likes me.
SHE IS JUST BEING KIND. Captain Sir, you don’t want to know, what I have been through taking the
Route of kindness. But hey, ain’t nobody gonna make me a monster.
CE: Oh my!!!
M: I am a sweet child? thank God for keeping me that way.
CE: Good LORD.
M: Its horrible when people abuse kindness. Some even exploit you, emotionally, financially,
Physically…, even spiritually. Yes, spiritually. It’s crazy.
CE: Financially, a lot. Hmmmmmm@ spiritually. Please enlighten me.
M: For reals though!!! Please don’t take me there.
CE: Looooooool
M: I agree with the tweet though. Hope that’s correct
CE: Loooool…. Yes, it is.
M: Just set your boundaries….but PLEASE NEVER STOP BEING KIND. Be kind even to those
.       who do not deserve it
CE: YES!!!! I wish I could just hand you a million dollars, for saying this.
You just described my mindset on helping people.
M: You should not allow one individual turn you into what you are not. So if you are kind.….., please rock it. And be the best@ being kind.
CE: Hmmmmmmmmmmmm@ so if you are kind… please rock it. That’s a punchline,
M: Yes, rock it unapologetically.
CE: Another punchline. People!!! Dee is on fire today@ punchlines.
M: You must pay now@ people! Its mine

CE: Yes, I agree@paying
M: Thank you. You paying in cash or I send my Acct. No?
CE: Which would you like?
M: E- transfer
CE: If in any event someone tries to take advantage of my kindness, though pained,
I’ll forgive him/ her, by God’s grace. Becoming a monster is me telling God that I’m tired
Of being created in His image. He’s been so good and so God.
His rain falls both on the righteous and the wicked. So when people keep declaring,
“ I am a god…., my father is God”. This is one of the things being “god” entails.
M: Copy that.
CE: Not just to be on a high pedestal
M: ☺

What’s your take on it? Do you think a line should be drawn@ kindness?
Do you think it’s foolish to keep the fire of kindness alive and burning, even when you see people are out to deliberately quench the fire and kill your spirit?
Do you hold back or forge ahead in the act of kindness?

    My take on this;
If the negative reaction of people can turn you from the sweet kind person you are to a mean monster, then I’m uncertain if you were truly totally kind in the first place. This is a tough pill to swallow (even for me), but it’s the plain truth.
Let’s keep being kind and also expect our kindness to be proven as genuine by the tests and trials that will come (people misinterpreting your kind actions or just being plain mean).

How can you tell that you are truly kind if you never had a “reason” to act otherwise.

We can grow in kindness everyday, that’s if we allow the growth.

Well stated, ma’am. Yes we can, only if /when we allow it.

I think kindness and goodness have become so scarce it’s had for people to think that one can be kind just because he/she is and for the good of the world. The cancer of selfishness has eaten so deep into humanity that when people see kindness, it doesn’t matter the heart it is coming from they just want to get as much out of it as possible. I mean in the world people think everyone is out to get something from the next person so when you are kind to me, I instinctively think you want something so I might as well get all I can from you while you are at it. For me, the solution is; flood the world with so much kindness and goodness that people get used to it and can believe again that people are kind just because they are. We are the Light of the world.

I am with you@ flood the world with kindness. The cancer of selfishness is curable if we decide to put extra work into being selfless. We can never be too kind there is absolutely nothing like too much kindness. The more kindness the better. Both to the deserving and none deserving. The truth is those who don’t need more dose, for them to experience something different. You never know, they could become agents of kindness tomorrow. Don’t give up on kindness.
